Emo is a type of rock music and a subculture very common among teens.
Emo teens usually wear skinny jeans, sometimes in bright colours, and tight T-shirts, which often bear the names of emo bands. Belts and black wristbands are common accessories in emo fashion. They also like putting on black Converse or skate shoes, such as Vans. Some males also wear thick black glasses.
One can also recognize an emo by his or her hairstyles. Popular looks include long straight hair covering one or both eyes. Some teens dye their hair black, although bright colours, such as blue, pink or red are also typical in emo hairstyles.
People sometimes associate emo culture with sad, sensitive, shy and introverted people. Is that true or another social prejudice?
